Help Jamaican Children Return to School After Hurricane Melissa

In October 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica, as the first Category 5 hurricane in the country's history. With winds reaching 185 miles per hour, the storm left a trail of devastation that officials described as "total." The parishes of Westmoreland and St. James were among the hardest hit lives, livelihoods, and entire communities were upended in ways that will take years to heal.

Many children are still out of school, sitting in classrooms under leaking tarps, without books, and carrying the weight of unprocessed trauma. As the September 2026 school year approaches, the need for support is urgent. Our missions team, organized by Affirm Your Day with Sid, is committed to helping these children return to school with dignity and hope. We are raising funds to provide 400 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, and hygiene items.

Each backpack will include writing and drawing pencils, pens, colored pencils, markers, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, paper, notebooks, folders, binders, scissors, glue sticks, tape, crayons, highlighters, index cards, sticky notes, staplers, paper clips, hand sanitizer, soap, reusable water bottles, tissues etc.

Supplies will be shipped from Florida to Jamaica, packed by our team, and distributed directly to children in partnership with local community leaders.

The Ebyonites Project is a community of believers who refuse to walk past hunger. We step into the streets, into the overlooked places, and we feed the forgotten, not with leftovers, but with complete, hot meals served with water and juice. All meals are served with dignity and love.

Our monthly goal is $1,728 and that feeds 200 people every month, and covers the gas to get the food to multiple locations that we visit each trip. We're looking for monthly partners, people who will commit to walking this out with us, month after month, so no one has to wonder if we'll show up.
